Why am I getting this error?

Boomcaster requires 5GB of space to record in high quality. This allows Boomcaster to safely store the recording temporarily on your system while simultaneously uploading to cloud. While cloud upload is real-time, local storage in the browser is needed to ensure a reliable and smooth recording experience.

How do I resolve this?

  1. Fastest way to troubleshoot this issue is to use a different browser. Download Edge at the link below and use Edge to join Boomcaster. If that works, you are good to go.
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/download
  2. If downloading Edge is not an option, type in chrome://quota-internals/ in the chrome address bar and make sure you have 5 GB storage available to the browser.
  3. If you don't have 5 GB, please make room on your hard drive or use another computer to join session.
  4. If you have more than 5 GB, type in chrome://settings/content in the chrome address bar, scroll down on the right panel and select "On-device site data"
  5. Make sure the the first option is selected
  6. Refresh browser and join the Boomcaster session
  7. If the above step doesn't resolve the error, click on Settings --> Privacy & Security. Click on "Clear browsing data"
  8. Free up storage by checking the three boxes (Cookies, Cached Images & Files, Hosted app data) and changing the Time range to "All time".
  9. Refresh browser and join the Boomcaster session
  10. If none of the above steps, please try a different computer.
