Using a Green Screen in Boomcaster

A green or blue screen lets you replace your background with a virtual image during your Boomcaster sessions. Whether you're recording or livestreaming, it’s an easy way to create a professional look — no matter where you are.

✅ How to Turn It On

You can enable the green screen in two ways:

Option 1: Before Entering the Studio

  1. When joining a recording session, you’ll see the Camera & Mic Check screen.

  2. Click the Backgrounds tab.

  3. Toggle “I’m using a green or blue screen.”

  4. Choose a built-in background or upload your own.

Option 2: Inside the Studio

  1. While in the session, click the three dots (⋯) on the control bar.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Open the Backgrounds tab.

  4. Toggle “I’m using a green or blue screen.”

  5. Pick a background or upload your own.

💡 Tips for Best Results

  • Use an evenly lit green or blue screen. Avoid shadows or bright spots.

  • Keep the screen smooth. Wrinkles or folds can interfere with background replacement.

  • Wear contrasting clothes. Don’t wear green or blue — you might blend into the background.

  • Use a modern computer. Older or low-powered devices may not handle green screen effects well.

⚠️ If the Background Doesn’t Look Right

Try the following:

  • Adjust your lighting to be more even.

  • Make sure your clothes don’t match your screen color.

  • Restart the session or refresh your browser.

  • Make sure hardware acceleration is enabled in your browser settings.

  • Use the latest version of Chrome or Edge for best performance.
